During yesterday’s PC Gaming Show, Funcom was revealed as the publisher of the upcoming survival game Aloft, being developed by Astrolabe Interactive. The announcement was accompanied by the release of a new demo, now available on Steam, featuring up to 8-player co-op until June 17.
Aloft takes players to a mesmerizing world of floating islands, each with its own unique ecosystem. Players can build homes, transform islands into skyships, and navigate towards a mysterious hurricane. The game also involves harnessing the wind for automation, exploring islands for new technology, and setting up farms in the sky. A key challenge is battling and curing islands from the spread of mushroom creature corruption.
The new demo, which significantly expands upon previous versions, introduces several exciting features. Players can now discover frescoes containing ancient knowledge and explore mysterious ruins and shipwrecks to unlock new blueprints. The multiplayer co-op mode is available until June 17, offering a unique opportunity for collaborative gameplay.
Gamers eager to experience Aloft can download the demo on Steam now and watch the new trailer for a glimpse of the skybound adventure. Aloft is slated for release into Steam Early Access in Fall 2024.
