Last week, there were two major community content releases on Friday. Funcom released its inaugural monthly community newsletter, Communinet Signal, and we launched our first unofficial Dune: Awakening podcast, Spice Blow Radio.
The newsletter is meant to be driven by the community, featuring responses to popular fan questions gathered from social media, as well as showcasing unique fan art. Funcom also provides updates on the game and major milestones.
The first edition of Communinet Signal concludes with a call to action for artists in the sietch. Funcom invites creative fans to share their fan art or videos envisioning themselves on the Hanovar dancefloor in Harko Village. Submissions can be posted on social media with #DuneAwakeningCommuninet or in the Fanart channel on Discord. Join the official Discord to discuss this issue and stay tuned for exciting reveals at Gamescom.
If you missed the first episode of our podcast, you now have another opportunity to catch it. Stephen, Maegan, and I discussed the major news from the last Dune: Awakening Direct and Summer Game Fest, as well as what to expect from Gamescom. Spice Blow Radio included AI music inspired by the Dune universe (including rock, raggae, rap, funk and country songs!), our first guild showcase, and hosted a Funko Pop giveaway. Check it out for yourself.
We are currently working on the next episode. If you have a guild or fan art that you would like to be featured in our podcast, make sure to send an email to hello@visitarrakis.com or reach out via social media.
Spice Blow Radio will return shortly after Gamescom at the latest.
